Aix en Provence

City of Art, Aix-en-Provence is known by a number of its festivals running all year round. International Festival of lyrical Art and Easter musical Festival are the most renown ones. Aix-en-Provence was a home city of Paul Cezanne. He lived and worked there. The mountain Saint Victoire and the beauty of local nature were great source of inspiration for the artist.
City of 1000 fountains, Aix-en-Provence is a well known centre of thermal springs, a city where literally every quarter is decorated by its own fountain. In fact, many of these fountains are hot or cold thermal springs.
Saint Victoire National Park
The house is situated at the entrance of the great national park of Sainte Victoire where climbing, paragliding, horse rining, cycling are very popular among local people and guests of the region. The park propose environ 250 km of walking routes of various distances and levels. Barrage Bimont, Chateau in Vauvenargues, where Picasso lived, vineyards around the Sainte Victoire are also places to visit. In 5 min by foot from Mas la Pinède you can also find contemporary Garden of 5 senses and walking route to the historical Caesar Tower.
Another aspect of Aix-en-Provence to discover is its history and architecture. Leave yourself some time for strolling slowly in the historical center and feel the aura made by narrow streets, medieval paving, squares and fountains, elegant facades with forged balconies and blue shutters. To complete the impression visit some new quarters with contemporary architecture, like Grand Theater of Provence or Conservatory of Music.
